JAMIE and Louise Redknapp have been sent packing by crisis-struck holiday
giant THOMAS COOK.
The celebrity couple were the face of the tour operator in cheesy TV ads
showing the pair relaxing on a sun-soaked break.
But Thomas Cook yesterday revealed the couple had been binned as part of a
brutal restructuring.
Chief exec Sam Weihagen told the Sun: "They have gone into retirement.
"By the end of Christmas you will see some new faces. We are back
focusing on the consumer."
The Redknapps were hired two years ago to plug the "Just don't book it, Thomas
Cook it" campaign.
But Thomas Cook has been hammered by the economic downturn. Awful results
yesterday revealed a huge annual loss of almost £400million.
Ex-boss Manny Fontenla Novoa last year admitted the ads were "cheesy" but had
increased bookings.
Thomas Cook takes six millions Brits abroad each year.
