Was replacing Cheryl Cole with Nicole Scherzinger on X-Factor the right decision?

There has been criticism over the decision to bring Nicole Scherzinger onto The X Factor since day one. Once the show started airing, many fans watched the comparisons of Nicole and Cheryl Cole, the judge Scherzinger replaced, and were wistful for Cole's style of judging. Once the Judge's House rounds began, many worried about Nicole's decisions for her extremely talented group. Thursday night, Scherzinger's decision about who to send home—or many say lack of a decision, has left many fans outraged.


When fans are unhappy with the outcome on a show, they take to social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. Thursday night, after Nicole Scherzinger decided she couldn't decide which X Factor contestant to send home, fans took their outrage to the Internet. Nicole was clearly stunned at how the deadlock was resolved Thursday night, where Rachel Crow ended up having the fewest votes and went home. Rachel crumbled to the floor after hearing the results, and Nicole burst into tears.

Twitter has exploded with harsh comments toward Nicole Scherzinger, calling for a boycott of her album, her firing, and general disgust over her unwillingness to make a choice in Thursday's elimination. Just about everybody feels that she felt she should send home Marcus, but she hated to be the deciding vote and didn't want to hurt his feelings. Instead, she made the choice that would force a deadlock, preventing her hands from getting dirty.

Tweets have included outraged notes such as, "Can we vote @NicoleScherzy off#xfactor? Perhaps producers should've been more clear abt job requirements. Judges judge. Not cop out. #FAIL" and #FireNicole is turning up tons of similar tweets. However, there is some support for Nicole Scherzinger. Many point out that Rachel Crow never would have gone home Thursday night if her fans had made sure they voted for her. Did they assume she was safe? Did Crow not have as much fan support as everybody assumed?
