Kelly Rowland: “I’m backing Amelia Lily 100%. I know she can win this!”

It wouldn’t be The X Factor Final weekend, if there weren’t a few dramas - and today of course is no exception.

Earlier, we brought you the tale of Louis Walsh’s very expensive hair do and then there were the whisperings about how Simon Cowell wants to turn Little Mix into the Spice Girls – but X Factor judge Kelly Rowland has exclusively told heatworld that her girl Amelia Lily doesn’t need all the glitz, glamour and gimmicks to help her win the show – because her voice speaks for itself.

We spoke to Kelly this morning after reports suggested that the mentor wasn’t planning on putting together an expensive and lavish set to help Amelia with her performances. And Kel' told us honestly that there wasn't any need at all to spend a fortune on the set when she knows Amelia can win the competition without all that – and all because she has the gift of an amazing voice.

The judge - who will be duetting with her remaining act in tonight's final - told us, "Amelia's voice speaks for itself. This girl has blown everyone away since coming back to the show and I know she'll do it again tonight. I'm so proud to be her mentor and I have every faith that she can win this competition. I’m backing her 100 per cent."

Since her comeback to the show a few weeks ago, Amelia has shown hard work really does work in the end.

In fact you might remember how the 17-year-old was dramatically voted out in the first live episode after her performance failed to impress Kelly (and us) enough. But according to those in the know, it was exactly that experience that made Amelia realise how much she wants to be a singer – and in turn, that has helped her work harder to make that happen.

Hence her incredible return with Queen’s The Show Must Go On four weeks ago (which let's face it - was frickin' fantastic).

A show insider told us, "The thing about Amelia is that she really wants this and has worked hard to improve herself.

When she was voted out in the first week, she knew she wasn't at her best so she went away and did something about it. She played gigs, practised singing constantly, learned how to interact with her audiences - and the result was the Amelia we saw return to the show. She doesn't need a fancy stage and a lavish entrance - all she needs to do is sing."

Well, we have to say we're with Kelly on this one. Surely that extra frew grand could be put to much better use than on the stage - after all, it is a talent competition.

And on the subject of the reports that Amelia feels "let down" and "stitched up" by Kelly, the girl herself insists that this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Amelia told The Sun, “I'm feeling really confident about the final. Singing with Kelly has been a dream. We did our second sound check and it was the best experience even to be on stage in her presence. She is an inspiration to me.”

Well, that doesn't sound like a girl who's feeling put out to us! And whatever the result we think Ms Amelia Lily has a stonking career ahead of her – you don’t waste a pair of lungs like those, we can tell ya. And we reckon we'd be pretty chuffed if we had Kelly 'Put It Down' Rowland as our mentor - we'd be hitting her up for industry tips every day! But nevermind us, what do you lot think? Can Amelia knock Marcus and Little Mix out of the competition? Share your thoughts below.
