Earlier this month, Katie made a move towards reconciliation when she offered a public apology to Peter, 38, and paid him an undisclosed sum, ending a two-year court battle.
Peter, 38, had taken action against her after the publication of an interview in October 2009 in which she falsely alleged he'd slept with manager Claire Powell and accused him of not seeing his stepson Harvey, 9, as much as he claimed.
The case - which was confidential until now - was settled in the High Court, allowing the pair a ‘clean slate'.
Pete's solicitor's statement said: ‘They're both pleased that they've reached a compromise and wish to put this matter behind them.'
So with this obstacle gone, could the pair reconcile?
‘She feels the negative things are slowly being stripped away and now they can start to remember the good times,' says a source close to Katie, 33.
‘She's desperate for him to trust her again.
She wants them to be close and is sure that time together with the kids is all they need to get the magic back.'
It seems Pete may agree, too - after his stint in the jungle, he told Now: ‘Me and Katie are trying to build bridges.
'I reckon this time next year I'll be in a deep relationship.'
