'We were told to lose weight' - Cheryl Cole

British pop group Girls Aloud were told to lose weight at the beginning of their careers, according to Cheryl Cole.

The 28-year-old and her bandmates Sarah Harding, 30, Nadine Coyle, 26, Kimberley Walsh, 30, and Nicola Roberts, 26, won ITV talent show Popstars The Rivals in 2002, but after the competition Cheryl claims that their record label told them to improve their image by getting thinner.

In an interview with British newspaper The Daily Telegraph, the Promise This singer said: 'There was a stage when we didn't look that great. We were all told to lose weight by the record label.'

She added: 'We lost weight, but naturally. We were so young.'

The Geordie beauty admitted that there was a lot of pressure on how the girls looked.
She said: 'We didn't really think about it... All we wanted was to sell records.'

My favorite former #1 WAG Cheryl Cole has been pretty silent lately so it was nice to wake up this morning and see that she did a sexy photo shoot for some magazine called Hunger.

I like that they’ve got her hair all wet in this video.

OK! magazine reveal Patrizio Pigliapoco - who is mentoring the Girls Aloud star in an attempt to re-launch her pop career in Los Angeles - appeared shocked by the footballer’s cheating whilst married to the singer.

Commenting on Ashley’s behaviour he said: "I can't believe what happened with that soccer player. Who was that guy? How could a man ever cheat on this woman? That's just crazy."

The 21-year-old admitted that he thinks the ‘Promise This’ singer is “gorgeous” and would love to date her but knows that there is no way she would agree to that.

What great tactics, we’d never had thought of that Cheryl. Butter wouldn't melt, eh?

The producer went on gushing about the Girls Aloud star – even suggesting he’d quite like to ask her out on a romantic night. But he doesn’t think she’d agree to it.

He admitted, “When I met her I thought, 'Oh my God, she's gorgeous!' I think she's great. She's got swag, that's the word here. I wish I could ask her out on a date — but she'd tell me no. She's out of my league."
